In this training, CFT legal counsel will review the types of legal guidelines that apply to in-person instruction during the time of COVID. We will discuss why the state and other entities are generally legally allowed to impose vaccine mandates on staff and students and provide updates about various lawsuits in California and around the country that have challenged vaccine mandates. We will also explain the union’s right to engage in collective bargaining over the effects of these mandates and teacher and staff rights to take leave.
