Classified School Employee Week celebrates the support staff and paraprofessionals who help our early childhood centers, schools, and colleges succeed. Classified employees perform essential work, but it is often behind the scenes. This is our week to put classified work front and center. In 2023, Classified School Employee Week is May 21-27.

California Senate Bill 1552 established Classified School Employee Week In 1986 to recognize the vital contributions of classified employees. Classified School Employee Week is celebrated in the third full week in May of each year, from Sunday to Saturday.
