Educational Technology Committee
The Educational Technology Committee makes recommendations and advocates on policy and issues related to educational technology, encompassing but not limited to effective representation, quality education, high standards, equity, and professional growth.
PRIORITIES
- Research the increase in online classes in TK-12 districts and offer advice on this trend to the CFT and local unions related to collective bargaining and state policy.
- Review the results of the state audit on educational technology and offer advice to the CFT legislative program in light of this audit.
- Develop workshops and produce materials to ensure that CFT local affiliates have the information to be effective advocates locally on educational technology issues.

Legislative Audit of Technology Use
The committee advocated for a state legislative audit of technology use on campus resulting in this 2017 audit of the long-term strategic plans to upgrade instructional technology and training at California community colleges.

A Framework for Contract Negotiations Related to Educational Technology Issues: The committee prepared this comprehensive document containing recommendations for local union contract negotiations.
