SACRAMENTO  — CFT President Jeff Freitas released the following statement in support of the members of the ABC Federation of Teachers, who began a ‘Work to Rule’ campaign today to protest inadequate movement by representatives of the ABC Unified School District at the bargaining table. A ‘Work to Rule’ campaign involves teachers and school workers only working their contractually-obligated work hours.

“Teachers and educators in the ABC Federation of Teachers have been there time and again for the students, families, and communities of the ABC Unified School District. They deserve the pay and respect that recognizes their heroic work during the pandemic, and the commitments they have made to generations of students. We call on the Board of Education of the ABC Unified School District to immediately return to the bargaining table and settle a contract that recognizes and properly pays their hard-working and dedicated teachers.”
