Summer Study Session: Labor in the Fight Against Fascism

Webform

Three-Part Zoom Seminar: Mondays, June 15, 22, and 29, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

In-Person Debrief and Planning Session: Wednesday, July 22, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in Sacramento or Burbank.

As the federal government erodes the rights and social welfare of the working class, veteran labor organizer and activist Bill Fletcher Jr. has challenged the labor movement to transform into an anti-fascist force. This three-part Zoom series, hosted by the Center for Political Education, provides labor leaders and activists with a dedicated space to assess labor’s response to contemporary threats. Participants will examine the history of labor within global and domestic political dynamics and strategize on how to effectively build an anti-fascist movement.

The final session on July 22 will transition from theory to practice. We will identify actionable strategies for our locals, labor councils, and communities. Participants will be encouraged to integrate collective bargaining with political advocacy and to organize local decision-making structures to facilitate this critical struggle.

Attendance at all four sessions is required- CFT will pay for the tickets to the zoom sessions  and travel to the in-person session. (Location will be confirmed once registration closes) For more information contact: Christopher Arellano, CFT Training Director.

Registration closes on June 10th – tickets are limited so sign up now.
