Collective Bargaining Basics
Webinar Series, Part 1 – Evening Course
This course is geared towards negotiating team members, and provides the basic skill and knowledge needed to understand the entire process of negotiating a contract. Part 1 covers the legal framework of collective bargaining, provides an overview of the process, and explains the roles and responsibilities of negotiators. In Part 2, after lunch, we focus on ways to ensure the negotiating team can work effectively, provides best practices for identifying issues and setting priorities, and shows how contract campaigns can be used to improve the success of negotiations.
You will complete only one registration to attend both of the Monday evening courses.
The CFT is offering Collective Bargaining Basics in two ways — on a single Saturday or on two Monday evenings. Local unions are encouraged to have teams train together. Follow-up trainings for each local team may be scheduled after the course concludes.
