AFT Western Region Leader Meeting

Training

Local union leaders can join AFT in Las Vegas for a one-day meeting with our colleagues in the Western Region.

The pandemic has reminded us how important our work truly is, and how vital our collective voice remains, both at work and in our democracy. Given these realities, AFT is hosting three national regional meetings of leaders to discuss the issues that confront us and plan the path forward. Conducted in three major cities, these meetings will unite members and encourage important conversations to frame our vision of the future.

The meetings will also provide exciting opportunities to learn more about valuable topics such as internal organizing strategies, the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program and how the digital tool Summer can help borrowers navigate and reduce student loan debt, our NewsGuard literacy tool, the trauma benefit for AFT members, and digital media tools.

Discover the benefits of the AFT’s “Reading Opens the World” literacy initiative (developed in partnership with First Book), which offers tools for educators that range from professional development essentials to ways parents and caregivers can become actively engaged, to furthering connections with families and residents in hosting your own school or community event.

The deadline to register for the Western Region meeting in Las Vegas is April 21
