Revise Adult Education Regional Consortiums
Whereas, the California Adult Education Program (CAEP), created in 2015-16, coordinates and funds regional pathways for adult students across programs to learn English, CTE, Citizenship, Academic and Basic skills; and
Whereas, there has not been new legislation to revise and refine the CAEP since its inception,
Therefore, be it resolved, that CFT encourage legislation aiming to revise current law regarding CAEP including, but not limited to the following:
- A common definition of enrollment
- All consortium members be within the footprint of the consortium’s community college(s)
- Increase programs that can be offered such as, but not limited to, Parent Education, Program for Older Adults, and Financial Literacy
