Whereas, there are 16.2 immigrant workers and which of 14.4 millions are union members in the United States, and;
Whereas, The Migration Policy Institute, immigrant workers make a critical contribution to the US economy and
Whereas, numerous studies show that undocumented workers put more money into the economy than they takeout and,
Whereas, the Trump campaign has instigated a deplorable racist campaign of falsehoods against the Haitian immigrant community in Springfield, Ohio and
Whereas, Donald Trump has promised to deport immigrants that he has scapegoated as “rapist”, and “murders” if he is elected, and
Whereas, Project 2025 which the extreme right wing plans to implement if Trump is elected president again will round out immigrants and put them in detention center just as it plans to get rid of the department of education and end labor unions,
Therefore, be it resolved, for reasons of expediency be it resolved that the CFT calls for an immediate end to the attack on immigrant workers and be it further resolved that CFT calls on other unions and AFL-CIO to insist on stopping the attacks on immigrant workers and their communities.
