CFT One Faculty Task Force Progress Report

CFT State Council – October 4, 2025

This report provides an update on the activities of the CFT One Faculty Task Force, including Phase One goals and member list.

Achievements to Date

• Developed a paradigm-shifting One Faculty Vision statement adopted in October 2024.
• Formed six subcommittees:
  • Strategic Planning & Process
  • Coalition Building
  • Awareness & Communications
  • Legislative Action
  • Bargaining
  • Local Focus
• Presented at the AFT/AAUP Higher Ed conference (Feb 2024).
• Held panels and workshops promoting the One Faculty model.
• Created FAQs, toolkits, and local Senate resolution templates.
• Sponsored legislation (AB 1028) on due process rights for part-time faculty.

Phase One Goals

• Develop accessible online materials for engagement by Fall 2025.
• Distribute needs assessment to community college locals.
• Revisit AB 1028 for new legislative proposals in October 2025.
• Publish a toolkit for One Faculty Week (Oct. 27–31, 2025).
• Foster statewide discussions and coalitions.
• Develop collective bargaining and mobilization tools through 2026.
