Ethnic Diversity in Leadership Committee
The Ethnic Diversity in Leadership Committee develops strategies that the CFT and our AFT local unions can use to encourage and train an ethnically diverse leadership within our organizations.
PRIORITIES
- Provide guidance and recommendations on best practices for increasing the leadership and participation of historically underrepresented people of color in our union at the local, state, and national levels.
- Promote training on a variety of union leadership topics such as member organizing, collective bargaining, and representation in order to support the leadership development of emerging local leaders of color.
- Organize workshops and produce materials that address issues of diversity, equity, and equality so that CFT and local unions can effectively build diverse leadership teams as well as increasing member participation of historically underrepresented people of color in our unions.
