Adopted State Budget
Gov. Brown signed the 2017-18 state budget on June 27. Despite continued uncertainty with the federal government, the budget included increases for nearly every division of education. Proposition 98 funding comes in at $74.5 billion, which is $2.6 billion more than the 2016 Budget Act. The budget continues to prioritize fully funding the Local Control Funding Formula for TK-12 schools. Several CFT priorities, including an additional $5 million for part-time faculty office hours and an additional $25 million for the Classified School Employee Teacher Credentialing program, were included in the final budget.
