SACRAMENTO, CA – CFT – A Union of Educators and Classified Professionals released the following statement on behalf of President Jeff Freitas following revelations published in today’s LA Times.
“The CFT denounces the alleged behavior detailed in today’s Los Angeles Times article.
“The labor movement exists to protect workers from exactly this abuse of power. That means we must lead by example for how workers should be treated, and we must hold ourselves to a higher standard when it comes to acting with professionalism and respect. The behavior outlined in this report stands in direct opposition to everything our movement represents, and is out of step with our values and with our expectations of ourselves and our fellow union leaders.
“We fully support the women and men who have had to endure threats, intimidation, and abuse in silence, and we will always stand shoulder to shoulder with our union siblings who are brave enough to stand up to such unacceptable treatment.”
