"Everyone has ideas and plans, but how do we move from ideas to action?" asked Carl Williams, president of the Council of Classified Employees. With its theme of "Aspiration to Action," the annual Classified Conference answered that question by focusing on union and worker successes. It did not disappoint!

About 40% of tenants in Daly City's new district housing are classified employees, giving staff the ability to afford housing in the community they know and love.

College staff can now set aside a portion of their paycheck (as can K-12 staff) and the state will match it. But your district has to participate. Now is the time for your union to convince your district to get with the program.

CFT-sponsored bill puts classified employees on equal footing with faculty. Now classified will also remain on paid status during a disciplinary appeal.
