Standing committees of CFT members work on areas of interest to educators. Find out about:

• Adult Education Commission
  Monitors issues and activities relating to adult education and make policy recommendations to the CFT.
• Career Technical Education Committee
  Monitors CTE trends with the goal of representing CFT membership and advancing CTE programs in schools.
• Civil, Human and Women's Rights Committee
  Works to ensure and protect the civil and human rights of all CFT members and the students we serve, regardless of color, race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or political affiliation.
• Early Childhood Education Committee
  Monitors issues and activities relating to pre-school, Head Start, child care and nursery school programs before state and federal legislative and regulatory committees.
• Educational Issues Committee
  Identifies and monitors significant educational issues affecting education in the state.
• Educational Technology Committee
  Monitors the emergence of educational technology in order to formulate appropriate CFT policy and guidelines.
• English Language Learners Committee
  Advances the interests of faculty teaching English language learners and their students.
• Labor In The Schools Committee
  Devises strategies that CFT locals and union members can use to make the study of the labor movement a part of the curricula of California schools and colleges.
• Part-time Faculty Committee
  Advances the interests of contingent faculty in higher education, public and private.
• Retirement Committee
  Monitors the activities of both the California State Teacher Retirement System (STRS) and the Public  Employees Retirement System (PERS).
• Safe and Non-Violent Schools Committee
  Monitors issues relating to school safety at the State Board of Education, the California Department of Education, and other state education agencies.
• Special Education Committee 
  Keeps the Federation and its members informed regarding special education trends and programs that will impact on school employees and students.
