October 6, 2011—The American Jobs Act, now in front of Congress, would save or create 37,000 jobs in California public education. After years of cuts to the education budget across the state, class sizes are soaring in K-12 and access to higher education is eroding for working class and middle class families. The American Jobs Act will help reverse the tide and build support for quality education, and with the right funding source: asking millionaires and billionaires to finally pay their fair share of taxes. This is not a full solution to California's funding problems, but it is an important step. Click here to take action.
