CFT members join protest to preserve Social Security
February 22, 2011, Monterey—Joining with members of other unions organized in the California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA), CFT members bused to Monterey to protest the appearance of Alan Simpson and Day Erskine Bowles, co-chairs of the President's Deficit Commission. The protestors didn't like the Commission's proposals, which include raising the retirement age and privatizing parts of the Social Security system.
