State needs revenue, not cuts, to save quality public education
Stacy Black, union building rep, and other teachers from Amesti Elementary in Watsonville rally before school begins early Wednesday morning, May 7, against budget cuts. The Pajaro Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees, in addition to issuing 140 layoff notices on March 15, is alone in the state in demanding salary cuts from remaining teachers and other school employees.
