WHAT'S NEW at CFT

Inscribes religious belief into law

Proposition 73
Campaign for teen safety

Proposition 73 would force doctors to notify the parents of young women under eighteen who request an abortion. This is a very difficult issue for many families, but it would be unnecessary for families that are supportive of their daughter's decision, and potentially devastating for families that are not. It is yet another effort to involve government in decisions that should remain private. Passage of Prop 73 would force young working class and poor women into back alley abortions, as in the pre-Roe vs. Wade days. Prop 73 would pit doctors against patients and endanger the health of young women. It would also enshrine into law the belief that life begins with conception. This is a belief held by some religious groups, but not by others. It would impose the religious belief of one group on all of society.

Vote NO on Proposition 73.
