PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS

1. Reception to meet the committee and the grant winners

Berkeley's Professional Development Funding Committee and UC-AFT Local 1474 announce a reception for the 2003-2004 lecturers' Professional Development grant winners on Wednesday, February 16, 2005, 5:30-8:30 pm, in the lovely Morrison Room at Doe Library.

We extend special thanks to the Library, and to the Scandinavian Studies and Architecture Departments for co-sponsoring this event with us. All lecturers, librarians, out-of-unit Local members, spouses, and colleagues are warmly invited. Please invite staff and administrators who support your academic work as well.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The Committee on Professional Development at the University of California, Berkeley, is pleased to announce the availability of the Professional Development Fund Pool for 2004-2005, which is now open to all eligible Unit 18 non-senate faculty at the University of California, Berkeley. The guidelines formulated by the Committee for the Berkeley campus are attached.

The deadline for grant applications for the 2004-2005 fiscal year is February 25, 2005. Proposals for retroactive funding for projects already completed will not be considered, nor will incomplete applications or those without the required number of copies (see the guidelines). Notification of awards will be made no later than the end of April, 2005.
