Action Taken
- Motion - Ask CFT President to research what happened to the adequacy law suit required by a past CFT resolution. Develop a timeline on what steps will be taken to bring forward this law suit.
- Move that a) CFT put together a PR campaign in support of an “adequacy” law suit. b) Initiate a Neighborhood Educational Campaign modeled after move-on.org’s Neighborhood Educational Campaign to begin sometime in the fall of 2007.
Future Plans
- SB153 – Oppose unless amended to remove contracting out language it eliminated.
- SB43 – Keep oppose position.
- SB 859 – Oppose unless amended “Six years…..or 16 semesters of service” to include six units of course work prior to receiving the permit, to include introduction to High School and Junior High School including pedagogy classroom observation and classroom management, and must participate in teacher induction.
- AB178 – Oppose unless amended. #1) Concern for funding. Not to be used for administrative position. #2) Class size reduction or additional classes. #3) Internship opportunities for students.
